French Potato Crop Expected to Fall 23 Percent
France reports that its main potato crop will drop significantly due to severe summer weather. Growers warn of low yields and reduced quality across the region.

France's main potato crop is set to drop 23%, or 2 million metric tons, following extreme summer heat and dry weather, growers group UNPT said on Monday afternoon. The decline compounds a 10% reduction in planting area as farmers reacted to an oversupplied European market last year. The drop threatens processing supplies across the continent, prompting calls for contract terms to be relaxed.
