France's economy contracted 0.1% in the third quarter as lower exports weighed on activity, missing forecasts for slight growth, preliminary data showed on Friday. The unexpected drop follows flat economic growth in the previous three months, according to national statistics. The contraction highlights mounting pressure on the euro zone's second-biggest economy amid weak external demand and domestic protests.
