Foreign Investors Withdraw 27 Billion From EM Portfolios

Non-resident investors withdrew a net 26.6 billion dollars from emerging market bonds and stocks in May as heavy equity selling in Asia outweighed debt inflows. The reversal was driven by 37 billion dollars in equity outflows concentrated in South Korea and India despite resilient debt markets.
