Fatal Blast Hits Strategic Iranian Port City of Bandar Abbas

An explosion hit a building in the port city of Bandar Abbas in Iran
IRon Saturday, resulting in at least one death and 14 injuries. The local head of the fire department, Mohammad Amin Liaqat mohammad amin liaqat, stated that the preliminary assessment was that the explosion was caused by a gas leak and accumulation. Iranian state media and the Mehr news agency provided early reports of the casualties following the incident at the strategically significant location.
A video published on social media showed people standing among debris and wrecked cars in front of a damaged building. While Reuters verified the location by comparing imagery, it could not independently verify the date the video was filmed.
