The pan-European STOXX 600 index reached a record high on Thursday, propelled by strong corporate earnings from firms including Schneider Electric S.E. and INDRA SISTEMAS SA. By 0950 GMT, the benchmark index had risen 0.2% to 634.60 points, as investors balanced optimistic results against the evolving landscape of artificial intelligence.
The defense sector stood out as a top performer, with shares of the Spain-based Indra jumping 18%. The company reported 2025 results that surpassed expectations, driven by an order backlog that more than doubled and robust growth across all business segments.
