EU raises tariffs on Chinese ceramic tableware to 79 percent to combat dumping
The EU raised tariffs on Chinese ceramic imports to 79 percent today to counter unfair pricing. This five-year measure aims to protect over 30,000 local jobs.
The European Union
EU has announced a blanket 79% anti-dumping duty on ceramic table and kitchenware imported from China
CN, following a formal review of existing measures. This new tariff, which covers products such as ceramic plates, cups, and bowls, replaces the previous duty range of 13.1% to 36.1% and will remain in place for five years. The decision was officially recorded in the EU
EU Official Journal on February 6, 2026.
The European Commission initiated the review to address findings that Chinese
CN ceramics producers were receiving preferential support and exporting their goods at artificially low prices. These anti-dumping measures have been part of the trade policy of the European Union
EU since 2013, and the latest adjustment aims to rectify ongoing market distortions.
