Equinor and Aker BP agreed to swap stakes in several offshore Norwegian fields. The deal aims to simplify developments and boost output on the continental shelf.
EQUINOR ASA and AKER BP ASA agreed on Thursday to swap stakes in several offshore oil and gas fields in Norway. The deal targets the Ringvei Vest discoveries, the Yggdrasil field, and the Wisting area to accelerate production timelines. Consolidating ownership allows both producers to streamline development decisions and lower operational complexity.
Equinor Executive Vice President Kjetil Hove said the agreements enable better development solutions and support long-term value creation. By aligning interests across these specific assets, the companies aim to reach project decisions faster.
