Lilly Says Retatrutide Cuts Sleep Apnea by 60 Percent
Eli Lilly says its drug retatrutide reduced sleep apnea severity by 60.6% and knee pain by 73.1%. The treatment also led to a 28% weight loss in trials.
ELI LILLY & CO reported Phase 3 trial data showing its experimental drug retatrutide reduced obstructive sleep apnea severity by 60.6% in obese adults. The results presented in the United States also showed the weekly injection reduced knee osteoarthritis pain by up to 73.1%. The findings follow previous data indicating patients lost 28% of their body weight during the study.
Lilly researchers presented the findings at an American Diabetes Association conference in New Orleans on Saturday evening, June 6. The data confirms the efficacy of retatrutide in treating comorbid conditions common in patients with obesity. Adults with type 2 diabetes also experienced significant drops in blood sugar levels during the trial.
