EDPR reports 50 percent jump in recurring profit for 2025 driven by US growth
EDP Renovaveis reported a 50 percent rise in 2025 recurring profit to 330 million euros. The growth was driven by US expansion and beat analyst forecasts.
EDP Renovaveis (EDPR) announced on February 25, 2026, that its recurring net profit for the full year 2025 rose 50 percent to 330 million euros, a result that surpassed the average expectations of market analysts. This growth was largely attributed to the company's capacity expansion in the United States
US, which significantly increased operating earnings. The performance beat the average forecast of 307 million euros provided by analysts polled by LSEG, demonstrating a robust operational period for the renewable energy firm.
The 2025 financial results also highlighted a shift in the company's funding and growth dynamics, particularly concerning its divestment strategy. Capital gains from the divestment of stakes in mature wind and solar parks fell to 95 million euros during the year, compared to 167 million euros in 2024. Despite this decrease in gains from asset sales, the strong operational performance from new capacity allowed the company to maintain its growth trajectory. EDPR utilizes its divestment strategy as a primary means to fund new projects, a model that remains central to its operations and those of its parent company, EDP, which is headquartered in Portugal
PT.
