ECB approves Boris Vujcic as its new vice-president
The European Central Bank has approved Boris Vujcic as its new vice-president for an eight-year term. The Croatian governor will begin his new role this June.
The European Central Bank (ECB) has officially approved the appointment of Boris Vujcic as its new Vice-President, marking a key leadership transition for the institution. Vujcic is scheduled to begin an eight-year term starting in June 2026.

Currently serving as the governor of the central bank of Croatia[Country:{ "assets":{ "country":"HR" } }], Vujcic was selected for the role by eurozone finance ministers last month. The approval by the ECB on Wednesday formalizes his transition to the Frankfurt-based bank.
As Vice-President, Vujcic will play a critical role in the governing council's decision-making processes. His extensive experience in national central banking is expected to contribute to the ECB's ongoing efforts to maintain price stability and navigate the economic challenges facing the euro area.
