Democrat Yvette Drucker defeated Republican Mike Caruso by 131,000 votes in the race for Palm Beach County clerk and comptroller. The election follows Caruso's arrest on child molestation charges in August. Drucker will oversee an $80M budget and 670 employees.

Caruso carried on his campaign despite local party leaders urging him to withdraw following his arrest. Preliminary tallies showed a decisive margin for Drucker, who shifted her political ambitions from a state senate run to secure the county post.
