CPMZ launches Mozambique Zimbabwe fuel pipeline expansion
Pipeline operator CPMZ launched a project to boost capacity on its Mozambique to Zimbabwe route by two thirds. The expansion aims to meet rising regional demand for diesel petrol and jet fuel by late 2027.
Southern African pipeline operator CPMZ launched an expansion of its fuel route between Mozambique and Zimbabwe on Wednesday morning, boosting annual capacity by two-thirds to 5 million cubic metres.
The project will increase throughput on the conduit connecting the port of Beira to the Feruka depot by the end of 2027. CPMZ reported that it transported 2.7 million cubic metres of refined products through the system in 2025, marking a 16% increase from the previous year.
