Copper prices rise on strong Chinese demand and low stocks
Benchmark copper on the London Metal Exchange rose 0.8% to $13,633 a ton as refined copper imports to China hit their highest level since last year. Dwindling inventories in Shanghai and LME warehouses combined with strong demand premiums suggest a tightening global market for the industrial metal.
