China Targets 53 Percent Rise in Wind and Solar Power

China released a renewable energy plan on Thursday that makes green power targets binding for the first time. The strategy aims to boost wind and solar generation to 1.8 billion tons of coal equivalent by 2030 while expanding hydropower and offshore wind capacity to ensure grid reliability.
