The United States Commodity Futures Trading Commission ordered former White House teleprompter operator Gabriel Perez to pay $172,539 on Friday afternoon for illegal prediction-market trading. Perez used nonpublic access to presidential speeches to trade event contracts. The penalty includes $107,539 in disgorged profits and a $65,000 civil fine.
