Buc-ees Unveils OKC Location and Highway Plans

Newly released documents reveal that Buc-ees has selected a site in Oklahoma City for a new travel center and agreed to fund a major highway interchange upgrade. The project involves a partnership between the company, the state, and the city.

Buc-ee's in Rockingham County opened to the public June 30. It's the first Virginia location for the popular Texas-based travel center.

Buc-ee's filed plans for a $25 million highway upgrade to support its first mega-travel center in Oklahoma City, according to municipal documents released on a Friday afternoon. The Texas-based chain signed an agreement with state and local transportation officials on Sept. 10. The project positions the new travel center at the intersection of Interstate 40 and Cimarron Road in the United States.
