Shares in British homebuilders fell 6% on Wednesday after finance minister John Healey introduced a first-time buyer scheme with £4.7 billion ($6.24 billion) in funding. The drop wiped out a 9% rally that began when the government first announced the programme in September. Investors reacted negatively to a delayed rollout and higher developer fees than anticipated.
