Britain Agrees Tariff Free Medicine Export Deal With US
Britain finalized a pharmaceutical trade deal with the US today. The agreement ensures British medicines enter the US market tariff-free for at least three years.
The United Kingdom has finalized the full text of a pharmaceutical trade partnership with the United States, establishing terms for the tariff-free entry of British-manufactured medicines into the American market. This agreement, which stems from a broader trade accord signed between the two nations last year, secures a commitment from Washington to maintain zero tariffs on these exports for a minimum of three years.
According to the British government, this arrangement makes the United Kingdom the only country currently holding such specialized tariff-free access for medicinal products to the United States. The agreement is expected to bolster the pharmaceutical sector by providing long-term certainty for trade between the two countries.
