Fleury and Porto End Oncoclinicas Joint Venture Talks
Fleury and Porto have ended talks with Oncoclinicas to form a new firm. The deal involved a 500 million reais investment and various oncology clinic assets.
Major healthcare and insurance providers in Brazil have reportedly terminated discussions aimed at forming a new joint venture. According to reports from the newspaper O Globo, FLEURY SA and PORTO SEGURO SA have pulled out of negotiations with ONCOCLINICAS DO BRASIL SERVI regarding the potential establishment of a combined healthcare firm. The three companies had previously entered into a non-binding term sheet last month, establishing a 30-day exclusivity window to negotiate a final agreement. The proposed deal structure involved Oncoclinicas contributing its oncology clinics and approximately 2.5 billion reais ($500.44 million) in debt. In parallel, Fleury and Porto Seguro were expected to jointly invest 500 million reais into the new enterprise through a holding company. The withdrawal marks a shift from the preliminary agreement, though the specific reasons for the breakdown in talks have not been disclosed. Representatives for the three firms did not immediately respond to requests for comment following the report.
