Brazil Finance Minister Names Ceron as Executive Secretary
Finance Minister Dario Durigan named Rogerio Ceron as executive secretary and Daniel Leal as Treasury chief. The moves follow Fernando Haddad's recent resignation.
Brazil's Finance Minister Dario Durigan announced on Monday that Treasury Secretary Rogerio Ceron will transition to the role of the ministry's new executive secretary. The appointment marks a key shift in the nation's economic leadership as the administration seeks to maintain policy stability. Daniel Leal, who previously served as the undersecretary for public debt, has been named to succeed Ceron as the head of the Treasury. Durigan confirmed the changes via a post on the social media platform X, highlighting the contributions of the outgoing Treasury chief. > I have confidence in (Cerons) ability to deliver, and I would like to emphasize that his work as head of the Treasury has been instrumental in advancing our agenda in recent years. The reshuffle follows the resignation of former Minister Fernando Haddad, who stepped down last week to run for the governorship of Sao Paulo in the October elections. Durigan, who formerly served as executive secretary under Haddad, was appointed by President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva to lead the Finance Ministry, pledging to continue the economic strategies of his predecessor.
