Biogen scales back Apellis programs after acquisition

Biogen has paused or discontinued funding for most Apellis Pharmaceuticals research programs to focus on the approved therapies Empaveli and Syfovre. The drugmaker also cut a small number of research roles as it integrates the company following a 5.6 billion dollar buyout completed earlier this year.
