BC Partners is attempting to acquire a $50 million bankruptcy loan from Saudi Arabia's sovereign wealth fund to seize control of the winding-down LIV Golf circuit. The London-based private equity firm is reviving efforts to build a successor league after the breakaway golf circuit announced its liquidation on Thursday. The move aims to salvage a global team-based golf circuit following a $5 billion investment withdrawal and the departure of marquee players.
