BOK to weigh conditions for future rate hikes
Bank of Korea board member Kim Jong-hwa stated the central bank will carefully evaluate domestic and external economic conditions to decide the timing and pace of future interest rate hikes. Policymakers are monitoring robust growth, persistent inflation pressures, and the impact of prior tightening.

The Bank of Korea will weigh economic conditions before deciding the pace of further tightening, board member Kim Jong-hwa said on Thursday morning. The central bank lifted its benchmark interest rate to 3.00% last month following back-to-back rate increases. Officials aim to rein in stubborn inflation driven by energy pressures and robust export demand.
