ASEAN to Address Regional Haze in November
ASEAN foreign ministers will address the persistent transboundary haze affecting the region during preparatory meetings next month. The Philippines, serving as the bloc chair, confirmed the issue is on the official agenda.
ASEAN foreign ministers will tackle persistent transboundary haze during preparatory meetings scheduled for November, the Philippines said on Tuesday. The discussions precede the upcoming summit of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations.
The regional bloc aims to address environmental pollution that periodically blankets parts of Southeast Asia. Transboundary smoke has historically strained diplomatic relations and impacted economic activity across member states.
