AI firm Anthropic has signed its first data centre lease in Australia for a massive facility near Brisbane. The campus will feature renewable power and start coming online in 2027.
Anthropic signed a lease for a 2.16-gigawatt data centre campus in Australia, marking its first infrastructure deal in the country. The proposed facility is slated to begin operations in 2027 on farmland located 250 km from Brisbane. The project forms part of an investment wave projected to reach $107B in Australia by 2030.
