Analysts predict Nikkei will surpass 60,000 mark by mid-2027 on strong earnings and foreign inflows

Japan's Nikkei index is forecast to reach 60,000 by mid-2027. Analysts cite robust corporate earnings and foreign investor interest as primary growth drivers.

A Reuters poll of 15 equity strategists has found that Japan JPJP's Nikkei share average is expected to reach approximately 60,750 by mid-2027. This forecast, released on Feb. 24, 2026, represents a significant upward revision from the median target of 52,000 set in a similar poll conducted in November. The updated outlook follows a rapid rise in the benchmark index, which has gained more than 13% since the start of the year and hit a record intraday high on Feb. 12.
