AMD forecasts quarterly revenue above analyst expectations
Advanced Micro Devices expects revenue of 11.2 billion dollars as cloud providers boost AI spending. The outlook beats estimates amid rising chip demand.
ADVANCED MICRO DEVICES forecast second-quarter revenue of $11.2 billion on Tuesday evening, exceeding LSEG estimates of $10.52 billion. The outlook reflects accelerating cloud provider spending on artificial intelligence infrastructure as companies shift toward model inference. Investors view AMD as the primary challenger to NVIDIA CORP in the expanding AI hardware market.
### Monetizing the Inference Shift AMD is capitalizing on the transition from training AI models to deploying them via central processing units. Earlier this year, the firm agreed to sell up to $60 billion in AI chips to META PLATFORMS INC-CLASS A over five years. This agreement allows Meta to purchase up to 10% of AMD's total chip output.
