AMBEV SA-ADR grew first-quarter net profit 2.1% to 3.89 billion reais ($783.5 million) following high demand during Carnival. The result sent shares of the Anheuser-Busch InBev SA/NV unit up 14% in afternoon trading. Strong premium beer volumes in Brazil suggest the brewer is successfully navigating volatile commodity costs ahead of major sporting events.
### Carnival Sales Drive Record Volumes Net revenue rose 8.1% organically to 22.46 billion reais as Carnival activations in February boosted brand engagement. Total volumes in the Brazilian beer segment climbed 1.2%, marking a new all-time high for a first-quarter period. Premium beer led the growth with double-digit volume increases, allowing Ambev to outperform the broader industry.
