Amazon to Lay Off 494 Workers for Florida Expansion

Amazon will terminate 494 employees at its Port St. Lucie facility on September 17 to accommodate a 200 million dollar expansion project. The company plans to rehire staff when the site reopens in 2028 with advanced robotics and an increased workforce of over 1,000 people.
