Adani Enterprises confirms US investigation into transactions linked to Iran

Adani Enterprises is cooperating with a US Treasury investigation into transactions that may have involved Iran. The firm denies any sanctions violations.

Adani Enterprises announced on Tuesday that the United States USUS Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) is conducting a civil investigation into certain company transactions that may have involved Iran IRIR or parties subject to U.S. sanctions. The probe specifically concerns transactions processed through U.S. financial institutions to determine if there was any direct or indirect involvement with restricted entities.
This regulatory inquiry follows a series of voluntary discussions between the company and federal officials, which were initiated after a Wall Street Journal report was published in June 2025. Following these discussions, OFAC issued a formal request for information on February 4. The investigation has increased regulatory scrutiny on the flagship firm of the Adani group as authorities examine the compliance of its international financial dealings.
