EQUINOR ASA reported first-quarter adjusted earnings of $9.77 billion, beating the $9.0 billion consensus estimate. Profits rose 13% from $8.65 billion a year earlier as production reached record levels. Oil and gas prices soared in March due to the war in the Middle East, lifting results.
Norway's largest energy producer benefited from the higher prices throughout March. CEO Anders Opedal said in a statement that the company delivered exceptional operational performance and record-high production, combined with higher prices, presenting strong financial results.
