FTSE 100 rises on mining gains and mortgage data

The United Kingdom blue-chip FTSE 100 rose 0.4% to 10,377.4 points midday June 2, boosted by gains in mining-linked stocks. The index is positioned to snap a three-day losing streak as prices for base metals climbed. The midcap FTSE 250 also advanced, climbing 0.8% during the session.
### Miners Lead Gains as Metals Rally Industrial metal miners added 2% to the index as Copper prices reached a two-week high. Heavyweights GLENCORE PLC, ANGLO AMERICAN PLC, and RIO TINTO PLC each climbed approximately 2%.
