NOMURA HOLDINGS INC subsidiary Laser Digital secured conditional approval from the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency for a United States national trust bank charter, benefiting from the Trump administration's crypto-friendly stance. The Zurich-based firm, which manages $250 million in assets, joins 15 other digital asset-related firms seeking federal bank charters since the start of 2025. Federal oversight allows Laser Digital to manage tokenized assets and cross-border payments for institutions within a formal regulatory framework.
