NYC Mayor Mamdani and JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon Hold Talks
NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani met JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon on Monday to discuss cutting red tape. The talks follow the mayor's recent calls for higher taxes.
New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani met JPMorgan Chase & Co. CEO Jamie Dimon to discuss cutting government waste and reducing red tape. The meeting at JPMorgan's new headquarters at 270 Park Avenue marked their first encounter. Mamdani, who ran for mayor last year as a democratic socialist, has proposed increasing taxes on the city's wealthiest residents.
The dialogue reflects JPMorgan's stated willingness to engage with city leadership on urban challenges. CEO Dimon told Reuters in November that solving New York's problems "takes all hands on deck." A spokesperson for JPMorgan described the tone as friendly and the meeting as constructive.
