Gold Prices Retreat From Record High As Investors Secure Profits Following Historic Rally

Spot gold prices retreated on Thursday after hitting a record high as investors took profits. The metal remains on track for its best month since the 1980s.

This move followed a significant reversal where gold prices fell more than 5% to a session low of $5,109.62 after touching an intraday record high of $5,594.82 earlier in the session. US USUSgold futures for February delivery also reflected the cooling trend, settling 0.3% lower at $5,318.40.
