GENERAL MOTORS CO has recruited Sterling Anderson as its new product chief with a compensation package that could reach a total of $40 million, according to a regulatory filing released on Monday. Anderson joined the automaker last year from the autonomous-trucking firm AURORA INNOVATION INC, where he served as a co-founder and chief product officer.
Prior to his time at the startup, the executive held a leadership role at TESLA INC. In his current capacity at General Motors, Anderson oversees critical segments of the business, including software development and the engineering of both electric and gasoline-powered vehicles.
