The prominent fashion retailer LPP SA, headquartered in Poland, has announced that its global supply chain remains stable despite the geopolitical tensions involving the United States, Israel, and Iran. According to the company's finance leadership, delivery times from critical Asian markets have not faced major disruptions, ensuring that seasonal collections remain available to consumers. Chief Financial Officer Marcin Bojko reported that while minor delays of two to four days have been noted for shipments originating from India and Pakistan, the overall flow of goods is consistent. > "This in no way disrupts the availability of our collections." While the logistics network remains functional, the retailer is monitoring potential cost increases. Suppliers in China have begun discussions regarding price hikes of approximately 1% to 2% due to fluctuating oil prices, with polyester-based products potentially seeing higher increases. However, the company noted that air freight accounts for only 0.8% of its purchasing mix, shielding it from recent spikes in air transport costs. CEO Marek Piechocki stated that the organization is well-prepared for global economic shocks, citing its experience during the global pandemic and its strategic withdrawal from Russia. Piechocki noted that further increases in oil prices could impact the entire retail sector, potentially driving more customers toward the company's budget-friendly Sinsay brand. Financial estimates included in the company’s annual report suggest that sea freight surcharges related to the conflict could reach 30 million zlotys ($8 million) in a worst-case scenario. Furthermore, distribution costs, which comprise about 30% of total logistics spending, could rise by 10% over February levels. To manage this volatility, LPP has already hedged 90% of its U.S. dollar exposure for the spring and summer seasons.
