NTT Data Group is in final talks to build a dedicated data centre in western Japan for United States artificial intelligence developer Anthropic, per the Nikkei business daily. Construction costs could reach up to 1 trillion yen ($6.3B), according to the report citing multiple people familiar with the matter. The facility would be the first dedicated site in the country for Anthropic, expanding its infrastructure footprint outside North America.
