Seplat Energy Resumes Operations After Strike Suspension
Workers at Nigeria's Seplat Energy suspended their strike on Saturday after receiving written pay rise commitments. Operations are resuming as talks proceed.
Operations at SEPLAT ENERGY PLC are resuming across Nigeria following the suspension of a strike by oil and gas workers. The industrial action, which began on Friday, was halted after the company provided written commitments regarding salary increases, according to statements from the labor union.
The Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association (PENGASSAN) directed its members to return to work immediately after negotiations resumed with the involvement of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC). The union had initially walked out after wage negotiations stalled, creating concerns over domestic energy production and supply stability during a period of rising global oil prices.
