New York Halts Large Data Center Construction for One Year
Governor Kathy Hochul announced a one-year ban on new data centers using 50 megawatts or more to address concerns over rising power costs and water usage. The state will develop environmental standards during the pause while also considering the repeal of sales tax exemptions for these facilities.
