M&T Bank Profit Rises on Stronger Net Interest Income

M&T Bank posted a second-quarter profit of $781 million as net interest income rose 4.6% to $1.79 billion. The Buffalo-based lender benefited from elevated interest rates and a widened net interest margin of 3.70% while reducing its provision for credit losses to $120 million.
