Google develops new Frozen v2 chip for Gemini AI models
Alphabet is developing a new server chip informally called Frozen v2 to improve the efficiency of its Gemini AI models. The project aims to address computing capacity constraints and could be up to ten times more power efficient than current custom hardware when it deploys as early as 2028.
