DEFINIUM THERAPEUTICS INC shares surged 20% in Monday premarket trading after its LSD-based treatment lowered generalized anxiety disorder symptoms in a late-stage trial. The drug reduced anxiety scale scores by 9.8 points over 12 weeks, compared with a 4.7-point decline for placebo. Psychedelic drug developments have driven Definium shares nearly triple this year.
CEO Robert Barrow said the second successful study answers questions regarding drug efficacy attribution. The company plans to seek United States Food and Drug Administration approval in the first half of next year.
