FTC Seeks More Info on Caesars Buyout
Caesars Entertainment and Fertitta Entertainment received a second request for information from the FTC regarding their proposed buyout. The regulatory review follows an earlier $17.6 billion takeover offer made by Tilman Fertittas firm in May.
CAESARS ENTERTAINMENT INC received a second request from the United States Federal Trade Commission on September 14 regarding a $17.6B buyout proposal from Fertitta Entertainment. The regulatory inquiry extends antitrust scrutiny into the proposed acquisition of the casino operator. The review follows an offer made by hospitality billionaire Tilman Fertitta earlier in May.
Fertitta's firm, which owns the Golden Nugget Hotel and Casinos and the NBA's Houston Rockets, submitted the buyout bid earlier this year. Regulators routinely issue second requests to gather extensive operational and market data on large-scale corporate transactions.
