BRICS Nations Discuss Payment and CBDC Linkages

Reserve Bank of India Governor Sanjay Malhotra confirmed that BRICS nations are exploring ways to connect their fast payment systems and central bank digital currencies to reduce cross-border costs. The central bank also urged Indian lenders to adopt formal AI governance policies to manage operational risks.
