Dabur Beats Profit Estimates on Steady Demand

India's Dabur reported a second-quarter profit above market expectations as steady demand for personal care goods and packaged foods helped offset rising raw material costs. Total revenue rose twelve percent to thirty-five billion rupees while consumer care sales climbed.

India's Dabur posted a second-quarter net profit of 5.06 billion rupees ($53.43 million), beating analyst estimates of 4.98 billion rupees. The result follows steady domestic demand for personal care items and packaged foods. The consumer goods maker outperformed expectations despite persistent pressure from rising raw material costs.
