Xpeng launches GX premium SUV to target high-end market
Chinese automaker Xpeng has launched its GX full-size SUV with prices starting at 279,800 yuan to target the premium segment. The vehicle features advanced autonomous driving technology and serves as the foundation for the company's future robotaxi and AI-driven mobility initiatives.
XPENG INC - CLASS A SHARES launched its GX SUV in China on May 20, priced between 279,800 yuan and 359,800 yuan. The premium model enters a market shifting from low-cost price wars toward high-margin luxury electric vehicles. Success in the 9-series segment is critical for Xpeng to improve margins while funding its long-term robotaxi ambitions.
The GX arrives as the top premium offering for Xpeng, featuring both pure electric and extended-range powertrains. It undercuts mid-April pre-sale prices of 399,800 yuan for the highest trim. Xpeng is offering a 10,000 yuan cash discount through late June to drive early adoption.
