Vopak Reports 1.8 Percent Decline in Q1 Core Earnings
Vopak reported a 1.8 percent drop in first-quarter core profit today. Results were hit by currency translation effects and lower joint venture earnings.
The tank storage specialist VOPAK, headquartered in the Netherlands, reported a slight decline in its first-quarter core earnings on Wednesday. The company attributed the 1.8% drop to unfavorable currency translation effects and reduced contributions from its joint venture operations.
According to the latest financial statement, proportional earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) reached 294.6 million euros ($345.9 million) for the quarter. This figure represents a decrease from the 299.9 million euros recorded during the same period last year. Fluctuations in the EUR/USD exchange rate played a significant role in the adjusted results, alongside the performance of the group's collaborative projects.
