Vistry Group Lowers Profit Forecast as Home Sales Fall Nine Percent

Vistry Group PLC issued a 2025 profit forecast below estimates after a nine percent drop in home sales. The news sent company shares lower on Wednesday.

洞察:
British homebuilder Vistry Group PLC announced on Wednesday that its 2025 profit forecast is expected to come in at approximately £270 million, missing market expectations of £272.6 million. The announcement triggered an immediate sell-off in the company shares, which fell more than 8% in early trading. This decline made the firm the leading loser on the FTSE 250 Index as investors reacted to signs of cooling demand in the housing sector of the United Kingdom GBGB.
The lowered guidance follows a challenging year for the developer, which reported that home sales dropped by 9% to 15,700 units in 2025, down from 17,225 units in the previous year. While revenue remained broadly flat at £4.2 billion, the company forward sales position also weakened. Forward sales declined to £4 billion at the start of 2026, compared to £4.4 billion a year earlier, reflecting a broader slowdown in activity.
