US Economic Growth for Third Quarter Revised Upward to 4.4 Percent

USCommerce Department's Bureau of Economic Analysis released an updated report on January 22, 2026, showing that the third-quarter gross domestic product grew at an upwardly revised annualized rate of 4.4 percent. This revised figure surpassed the 4.3 percent growth rate that economists polled by Reuters had previously forecast. The acceleration marks the strongest pace of expansion for the national economy since the third quarter of 2023 and follows a 3.8 percent growth rate recorded during the second quarter.
